Blog Post #6: 2023 and Beyond… A Writer’s Retrospective

I have been slacking on this blog. I can absolutely admit that wholeheartedly, and I’m deeply regretful about that.

I think somewhere along the way I forgot what I actually wanted this blog’s purpose to be – what I actually wanted to do up in here.

I want to share story ideas. I want to talk about cool things I find out during my research. But mostly I want to be meta as hell with my stories and characters. I want to have fun and be wild.

But I need to write more. Seriously. Like, at least once a week. Every week. Preferably on Tuesdays, the day designated for the Writer. (And no more swapping days! Tuesday is crazy creative writing day, no excuses!)

Writing truly requires the most important kind of discipline (in my opinion): self-discipline. No one is going to force me to write. No matter how many writing groups and sessions I participate in, I am ultimately the one in charge of my own progress. And so it goes with all writers, including any who may be reading this.

But for the readers who are interested in what I have to offer beyond The Eternal Goddess of Flames series (yes, book promotion is a LOT of work over an extended period of time), this blog is where I can make that happen. Not just with my words, but with fun videos and artwork concepts included. I’ve been playing around with some of those AI image generators and boy, have I made some doozies!

What changes do I want to make for 2023? What mistakes from 2022 do I not want to repeat moving forward? Mainly just not writing and researching as fervently as I used to.

That changes with the upcoming tomorrows… not just the upcoming year. See you next Tuesday! (And not in the rude way… LOL)

Peace and blessings all. May you have a safe holiday season, a happy new year, and a productive January 2023!
