I love to read my own writing. It's like visiting my own infinitely expanding amusement park - one that I can play in for as long as my words allow me to.

Tamara Mayo

Hi, I’m Tamara! I am a writer of speculative and supernatural fiction, which is my favorite genre to create worlds and characters in. I also dabble a bit in mystery and romance, but since I’m such a lover of the meta-physical realm, even those stories tend to veer into the “speculative fiction” side of the writing spectrum.

I like to write YA and adult fiction that takes away the limitations of our physical world and bodies, where the words on the page take my readers on a journey where their mind sees and experiences things this world says are impossible. I believe on top of teaching us new things, reading should also help us temporarily escape.

I am the author of “Goddess of Flames”, the first book of an epic, supernatural saga. I am fascinated by the Creator’s creations beyond humanity, and angels, demons - and everything in between - are at the top of the list. I’ve been studying everything supernatural, mystical, spiritual, and “other-realmy” since I was ten. I like to think in that time the Most High Creator has revealed enough for me to make up some exciting stories with good morals and inspirational characters.

I want “Goddess of Flames” to be a trilogy, but I have a feeling it will stretch into more titles. The sequel, “Flames of Redemption” is currently being brainstormed and storyboarded. Until then, feel free to read the short stories that I’m always writing about them to stay inspired. It’s a good way to get to know them.

About My Writing

I like to write books that I wish I could have read growing up - exciting books that center around Black teens and POC with superpowers, angels, demons, and funny dialogue.
Those books currently exist in my head.
They're stories full of hope, light, and (spoiler alert) the good guys win. 😉
I prefer to take the George Lucas route of creating and use my power to plant positive seeds of optimism, loyalty, and love... and have the good guys eventually triumph. 😋

Want to Meet Me?

I'm thinking about doing some Zoom meetups and workshops for us creators that are tired of feeling lonely and just wanna hang out with other creators and talk.

If it sounds like something you'd be interested in, be sure to like me on Facebook so I can KNOW you exist and get a list started! LOL
